Jane Ammeson is a freelance writer, author, columnist, and photographer who blogs at janeammeson.com and posts book reviews and author interviews at shelflife.blog. She’s written 16 books on such diverse subjects as history, haunted Civil War sites, lifestyles, food, travel, and historic true crime. Her book Lincoln Road Trips: The Back-Roads Guide to America’s Favorite President won the Bronze Award in the Lowell Thomas Journalism Awards for Best Travel Book. She also has won numerous Mark Twain Awards for her travel and food stories. When she’s not writing, Jane enjoys cooking, horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, gardening, and traveling.
