Ashley Mahoney is an award-winning journalist based in Charlotte. Many of the subjects explored in Historic Maps of Charlotte, from Camp North End to Independence Park, have been part of her coverage for Axios Charlotte and the Charlotte Post. These are some of her favorite places to explore with her husband, Danny. Historic Maps of Charlotte allowed her to combine her skills as a journalist with her degrees in history and English. She is delighted that her first book focuses on the history of the city she has called home for more than a decade.
